Heather Harley-Davidson has been a resident of North Florida since 1970. Raised in Ortega, Jacksonville with the family's second home in Crescent Beach, FL. built by her father Bill Davidson. As a teen, Heather lifeguarded & worked beach dispatch for the St. Johns County under the direction of Fire Chief Captain Bubby Williams. Heather attended St Johns River Community College, and received an Associates in Arts Degree, then to University of North Florida, receiving a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Technology Construction Management with a Minor in Business Administration. Heather is a Mother of 2 now adults Brittany Alphonso, and Thomas Michael. She has five grandchildren with four of them living in St Augustine, and two are attending St Johns County schools .
As a Builder:
Heather Harley-Davidson and late husband of 21 years, Warren Michael, ran a successful construction company, Advanced Building Company of North Florida (ABC) for 20 years. They created jobs for the community, in construction and hospitality, at a time after September 11 2001, when our economy flat lined. ABC's designs won Concrete Masonry Awards and practiced environmentally and ecologically conscious designs; saving natural vegetation by bulkheading around trees before fill dirt. WE, as locals and builders, loved our environment and natural vegetation. ABC built coastal custom homes and commercial projects utilizing “clear to design footprint practices” to keep natural vegetation rather than clear cutting. Thinking out of the box and being good stewards of the land. Heather Harley Davidson is a semi retired but actively licensed State Certified General Contractor qualifying Advanced Building Company of North Florida cgc1532893.
In 1999, Heather attended the Land Development Code Workshop, sat on the Wetland Buffer Committee , and was appointed to sit on St Johns County Abatement Board early 2000. Heather, FKA Heather D. Michael ran for District 1 St Johns County Commission 1999; concerned about growth and private property rights. A former county administrator won the seat, a career bureaucrat whose compromised Commission in his second term increased density for the developers. This has lead to problems with over development our County is facing today.
As an Inn Keeper:
Heather Harley–Davidson designed, built, owned and operated Channel Marker 71 Barrier Island Inn and Restaurant for 10 years. The B & B was an eco friendly design award winning inn, 7000 block of A1A South Crescent Beach. It was featured in 2004 Coastal Castle a Florida Times Union publication Waters Edge. Heather (former Michael) Harley-Davidson would officiate many weddings while operating the inn. Heather and Warren ended their marriage in 2007, not realizing Warren was ill. Warren Michael passed at age 61, 2022 with early onset Alzheimer’s.
Arts and Hobbies:
She is an active award winning artist of multiple mediums. She is a current member of the St Augustine Art Association which recently celebrated it's 100th year anniversary. She hangs her artwork at the St. Augustine Art Association, A1A Urban Back 4O, A1A Back 40 and The Farmhand KCHN + Coffee. She is a beekeeper learning alongside her daughter, and an avid native plant gardener.
